Date: April 19th | Location: Low Library, Columbia University
The race to net-zero requires closing critical funding gaps, especially in underserved markets and hard-to-abate sectors like the built environment. This conference will bring together experts from venture capital, banking, and climate data to explore how different forms of capital—concessional finance, commercial lending, and venture investment—can align to scale solutions effectively. Panels will cover financing models for decarbonizing the built environment, managing risks in emerging markets, and addressing gaps in climate and energy data.
This conference is in collaboration with the Green Business Club (CBS), Ci3 (SIPA) and Build it Green (SPS).
Key topics include:
- Aligning venture capital, concessional finance, and commercial lending
- Risk dynamics across developed and emerging markets
- Disparities in funding between large-scale and early-stage solutions
Panels include:
- Climate Capital for Emerging Markets
- Financing Decarbonization in the Built Environment
- Frontiers in Climate & Energy Data for Financial Markets
- How Does Venture Capital Innovate for Risk Mitigation?
- Sustainability in Capital Markets: Banking for the Energy Transition
